Stripes are the simplest image. When the two dimensional stripes extend out to become three dimensional projections, it creates a second layer of visual effects - an optical illusion.
I wanted to use non-readable graphic to create a space and break the boundary of readable graphic. Because viewers will focus on the readable graphic rather than the space itself. Besides, I need to think what I can achieve by the and my work comes from concrete into abstract. Due to this transformation, there is more interaction between my work and viewers. Viewers can have more imagination by the abstract artwork. This is the interesting point of the abstract artwork.
I installed two layers into the work - white wooden beam adjusting the turning part of our eye level, changing the colour back into black and white. This can make stronger Morie effect.
When viewers walk around the art work, they will see optical illusion. It comes out different pattern by the black and white wood beam and black vinyl tape. So every step, viewers will see different patterns.
Perspective is the way we see the world and the link between 2D and 3D. Follow perspective principle, I transformed the logo of Cranbrook Academy of Art and developed the transformed logo into ring and necklace.
In order to build a "world-class seaside resort," the planning and design team will develop the resort and the concept of an environmentally friendly developed district that complies with the spirit of environmental protection. There are a few concepts, including an ecological green network, sustainable development, and local culture that will work in congruence with sustainable development laws to help the team meet expectations for overall development of "living green."
Eco-Green Network: Restoration
First, we will restore the land to the point where the environment can regenerate on its own, and then we will begin development with the lowest degree of risk. The total restoration period is estimated to take four years, starting from the third year of development.
For sustainable development, we will incorporate the concept of green building, which includes reducing CO2 emissions, reducing energy consumption, and recycling water.
By exploiting the advantages of local characteristic, technology, and building materials, we plan on creating the best resort possible.
Design Workshop at Boisbuchet
In cooperation with Vitra Design Museum and the centre Georges Pompidou, CIRECA has been putting on an international summer academy at Domaine de Boisbuchet since 1996. The international summer workshops are offered from June through mid-September. The courses are led by renowned designers, architects and artists who live and work together with the participants for a length of six to ten days.
Audile by Open Design Atelier
Much of modern architecture is exclusively aimed at our sense of vision, arguably to the exclusion of our other senses. The workshop will explore the landscape through the auditive. By recording how a sense of place is created through sound the group will create a folly that explores the sounds within the grounds of Boisbuchet, perhaps generating its own in response; telling the stories of the landscape.
Stratum of History
The base is located on the Dadu Mountain plateau to the east of the Taichung basin. The terrain in this basin is flat and about 60 meters above sea level.
In the center of Tai-Chung Seventh Redevelopment Zone is an important development project. Buildings, such as the International Convention Center, International Exhibition Center, the Taichung Opera House, and the Transportation Hub are all gathered here. In 1929, parks were founded in Huilai sites, but because of all of the rapid development, sites have mostly been destroyed.
The International Convention Center and Exhibition Center will be located on Chungkang Road and will be important centers in Taichung. The Exhibition Center lies next to the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store, Tiger City Shopping Mall and various other locations. This area is also the future home of the Taichung Metropolitan Opera House with an area of around 30,000 square meters. The main road to the Center links with important points of contact, so transportation is convenient.
Question and Strategy
1.Because the base is in a prime location in Taichung, government and construction companies have been buying up land. As a result, the Huilai site has suffered destruction.
2.How do we preserve the three thousand year-old Huilai culture and combine with the modern International Convention Center?
Historical and cultural relics show clay culture in the kiln. This project will create a green building that imitates the shape of fire from clay culture. There will be a hemi-sphere solar panel on the top of the building
In order to combine aspects of historical sites with a modern building, a historic corridor has been designed at the International Convention and Exhibition Center entrance. This will benefit visitors, since they can both learn about culture and enjoy the historical relics.
